Lieutenant James was a male Human Starfleet bridge officer who lived during the mid-23rd century. He served in the command division aboard the USS Enterprise under Captain James T. Kirk, during a historic five-year mission that starship undertook. He served in the operations division and was present on a corridor when the Enterprise encountered Balok's cube in 2266. He later assisted Montgomery Scott in the transporter room with beaming Kirk, McCoy and Bailey over to the Fesarius' pilot vessel. (TOS: "The Corbomite Maneuver" )
