Doctor Eggman has managed to capture Sonic with the help of Metal Sonic. Eggman gloats over his victory, while Sonic mentions to Dr. Eggman that it was Metal Sonic that did all the work. Being a bit disappointed at this, Eggman gets out a device and tells Sonic that if he disapproves of using a robot, he'll use the real thing instead. In Knothole, Sally organizes the Freedom Fighters and plans to bust Sonic out of New Megaopolis, who she saw being dragged there by Metal Sonic. Sally begins to divide the team into groups, with Rotor and NICOLE to monitor, Antoine and Bunnie for offensive support and Tails and Sally breaking Sonic out. Fortunately, Sonic returns with the device stuck in his ear. Being controlled by Dr. Eggman, Sonic attacks Bunnie along with the rest of the Freedom Fighters.
