Born in a rural part of Ryloth, Chir`da was from the Dira clan. Her uncle was clan leader, and he was very rich. However much of the family did not share their wealth, and Chir`da's parents ended up very poor. When her mother died young, Chir`da was left to the care of her father. He was a kind but sad man, and even as a youngster Chir`da learned to fend for herself. She got a job as a waitress at the local bar, called The Enki. She worked there as soon as she turned the legal age, and spent six years waiting on drunkards and slobs.
