IG-85 was an assassin/guard droid. He was posted at Mechis III where he served until the IG-88 arrived. He was the guard there when they owned it as well. He worked there until 78 ABY when he finally malfunctioned and left the planet in a ship. He made it all the way to Ord Mantell where he destroyed six ships that were instantly flying by. IG-85 then had a bounty on his head; therefore, he went into hiding, eventually reemerging and becoming a guard for various people across the galaxy.
