Carwyn is one of the initial travelers who joins up with Kyo Rurouni in the tavern at Akebono. He initially does not give a reason for his traveling with the group, but eventually reveals to Aya S'Ornaku that he is searching for his missing sister Chryseis to bring home to their ailing mother.
