Ice spikes such as the Caelli-Merced Ice Detonator were specially-made explosives used by ice fisherman on Neftali. Using specially-shaped charges in the spike, they were used to blast a hole through the meter-thick ice which covered areas such as the Bay of Fflus in the Beija Minor Sea.
