A troop transport is a vehicle designed to transport infantry to and from combat zones. Infantry fighting vehicle's (IFV) such as the M2A2 Bradley provide infantry with armored protection from gunfire while simultaneously attacking enemy infantry. Soft troop transports like the HMMWV provide limited protection and have minimal armament, but gain additional mobility for this trade-off.
