Aloysius Gruner was a Solarian citizen and an officer of the Solarian League Navy. Holding the rank of Lieutenant, he was in command of Dispatch Boat 17702, assigned to Josef Byng's Task Group 3021. He was sent off very early in the confrontation with the Royal Manticoran Navy, which was why his crew was able to evade the RMN and bring back news of the Solarian defeat to the League. (HH12)
