Alex Kangas (born May 28, 1987 in Rochester, Minnesota) is an American goaltender playing for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. He played Tier II Junior "A" for the Sioux Falls Stampede in 2005-06 and for the Indiana Ice in 2006-07. Since 2007 he has been playing for the Golden Gophers. Kangas was chosen 135th overall by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. In the 2008 WCHA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament, Kangas was named the Most Valuable Player.
