He doesn't get along well with him. Though when Housei is about to collapse he did help him subsequently hearing the brunt of his insult that he is "the weakest lik" in the ensemble. Daichi did not think much on it nor did he continue fighting with the sick Housei. Their friction is related to the fact that Chiaki and Ritsu have a deep rivalry and that both he and Housei are the vice presidents of their respected clubs thus increasing that rivalry. It could also be that Housei does not like that such a position is rewarded to a less experienced student who comes from Seiso's General Education section and does not specialize in music. Either way Daichi handles this friction and criticism with tact.
