Gilad Kepal was career army officer, serving in the armies of the Galactic Republic and the various forms of the Galactic Empire, those being Palpatine's Empire, the Imperial Remnant, Nagel's Empire, and finally The New Order. Starting as a private in the long-standing Republic Judicial Corps in 29 BBY, Gilad spent the majority of his fifty-two years-long (and continuing) military career ascending through the ranks of the factions, before finally attaining the rank of Supreme General of the Imperial Armies during the Praetorian Wars in early 20 ABY.
