The Rotterdam Volunteer Fire Department, also known as Rotterdam Fire District 2, is a volunteer fire department in the Town of Rotterdam, New York, located at 1400 Curry Road. It provides fire and rescue services with 40-45 volunteers and responds to an average of 300 calls per year. It also provides RIT (rapid intervention team) services to South Schenectady, Pine Grove, Schonowe, Rotterdam Junction, Pattersonville, Plotterkill, Duanesburg, Delanson, Quaker Street, Mariaville, and portions of Fort Hunter (who in turn is Rotterdam's RIT department and, as of late 2015, Carman's RIT department), Esperance, and Burtonsville. Until 2015, it also was the RIT department for Carman.
