Robald Forthright was a stout, talkative male hedgehog who lived in a turf hut on a stream bank. He lived alone, and thus can be very talkative with company, almost to the point of being a nuisance. He was first met by Tagg and Nimbalo the Slayer when he was rolled into a mud prison by Gruven, Dagrab and Rawback. The vermin trio wrecked his home and ate his food, then, in response to his curling into a ball, rolled him in the mud until he was imprisoned inside a great ball of mud. He survived by trapping a reed in his mouth that he could breath through, until Tagg and Nimbalo rescued him. Robald was a terrible cook, so a female hedgehog named Great Aunt Lollery traveled from her cottage some was away to cooked food for him.
