Barbara Falters was a proposed Muppet character to appear in a Muppet News Flash on The Muppet Show. The scripted sketch specifically identifies her as made from a blue-colored Whatnot. Barbara would be the Critic-In-Residence for the Muppet News. She begins a diatribe about The Muppet Show and chides executive producer Jim Henson for creating such a boring program starring puppets. She points out the one bright spot of the program - the Muppet News - if only because of her role on it. The Newsman, getting increasingly frustrated with her review, eventually drags her offstage by the neck, as she complains about the violence on television.
