The Rea'thu, or blood dragon, is a creature found on the moons of gas giants. Discovered by early Protoss scouts during the age of exploration, the creatures were thought to be distant relatives to the garunta. Being slightly susceptible to psionic energies, many young explorers tried to tame the Rea'thu as personal mounts. Though difficult at first, once bonded the pair are deadly as any fighter craft (Warcraft III: Hippogryph; James Cameron's Avatar: Mountain Banshee). This process was so earn such high respect, many individuals took taming a Rea'thu as part of their Quo'ryha.
