The Registrar officiated at the September 2000 wedding of Mike Baldwin to Linda Sykes at the De Lisle House hotel. Mike's son, Mark Redman, was supposed to be Best Man but, in love with the bride himself, he disappeared as he was unable to face the ceremony. Mike was mortified when Roy Cropper proved to be the only available substitute and he asked Deirdre Rachid to remind him when he returned from honeymoon to find some new friends!
