The Outer Rim Uprising, also called the Outer Rim Rebellion or Outer Rim Revolt, was a large rebellion that erupted across the Outer Rim Territories, beginning in 16,872 BBY. It was caused largely by the citizens' discontent with the Galactic Republic, and it took several years for the Republic Army and Navy to put down. It was estimated that at least thirty million people were killed during the conflict. The main resistance force was the Outer Rim Coalition, a loose alliance of several resistance groups. Many were not even affiliated with them. The Coalition managed to defeat several Republic armies and fleets throughout the Rim, but was eventually defeated, in 16,863 BBY.
