X the Destroyer is a significant figure in the legends of the Jägermonsters (or at least Da Boyz), mentioned [ here] [[Chronology - Volume #|✣ ]]. Apparently, some time in the past, this Mr. X led one of the war parties that tried to conquer Mechanicsburg. Being none too bright, when he saw the big X on the plain in front of town, he thought that was where he should set up his tent -- rather than being one of the firing coordinates for the town's defenses, which is what it actually was. As Ognian and Maxim delight in remembering, the result was that both sides had to get a new X made -- as they put it, "Goot times!"
