To save Captain Kirrahe, you need to help him and his units, it does not matter who you send to him them either, first off, you will find some sort of console/security terminal (w/e) at the first building you see, if you press that, I am pretty sure it helps the Salarians, soon, you will come across a bridge type of thing, you can go several ways, go right (you will know you are right if you spot several recon droids) if you destroy them, that will take some heat off of the Salarians. Last, before entering the base, you can have one of your team mates hack a computer in front of it, and you are given the option to either take the guards yourself, or send them to the Salarians, take them yourself, if you do all of this Captain Kirrahe will stay alive.
