Hyperinflation was rampant, economic resources were scarce, and global conflict was almost constant. However, salvation came when Galbraith and Hester discovered the secret to traveling across alternate timelines. By the end of the 21st century, Crosstime Traffic, a multinational corporation, had been established which existed solely to travel into different alternates and establish commerce.
