Colonel Edward Satterthwate (30 March 1857-12 August 1932) was a Territorial Force officer, stockbroker and local politician active in the Bromley area. Born near Windermere in the Lake District, he moved to Bromley in the Kent suburbs of London with his family. Following education at Rugby School he entered his father's stockbroking company. From 1897-1929 he was secretary to the General Purposes Committee of the Stock Exchange. A member of Bromley Borough Council, he was Mayor of Bromley in 1922-23. He was also a Deputy Lieutenant and Justice of the Peace for the County of Kent.
