Windsnappers were aerial creatures with curved claws, whiplash feelers, and broad, white shells. They sometimes appeared on logbaits. During the First Age of Flight, they were considered pests and were Sky-Fired by Leaguesmen and Sky Pirates, but they were discovered to be edible during the Third Age of Flight, and were served aboard skytaverns.
