Electric substations are buildings in Tropico 3 and Tropico 4. When power-producing buildings are built, they form a circular shaped electric grid which they provide power to. Often, there will be buildings that fall outside the grid. In order to power these buildings, electric substations can be built. These substations provide no power themselves but will expand the current power grid by an additional 300 meters radius around them.
