The Ironwood Stands was a trading post for sky ships in the Deepwoods during the First Age of Flight. During the Rook trilogy, the Battle of Lufwood Mount took place there, with the Undertowners, Ghosts of Screetown, Librarians, and Sky Pirates against the shrykes led by Mother Muleclaw the Third. Part of the Ironwood Stands was burned down during the battle, but some of the trees survived, and the area later became the headquarters of the Freeglade Lancers. The stands were extremely distinctive, rising hundreds of metres above the Deepwoods canopy.
