The second-floor arcade and the third-floor are connected by a staircase. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Neville Longbottom used the staircase on their way to the Trophy Room. Harry, Ron and Hermione used the staircase again on their way to the third-floor corridor, finding Peeves there loosening the carpet to trip people up.
