Crossmyloof Ice Rink opened in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1907. It was the first artificial ice rink in Scotland since the Glasgow Real Ice Skating Palace closed a decade earlier. The rink had an unusual design, with a bandstand resting on four pillars located in the middle of the ice surface. This setup likely would have created some obstacles for hockey playing and skating, as well as curling. Crossmyloof also played host to an international match between England and Scotland on December 16, 1910. The Scots were victorious, 8-3.
