He trained at the Manchester Polytechnic school of theatre and has worked extensively in the theatre, both in the West End and regionally. His London credits include Kean, Buddy and Jolson while in the provinces he has appeared for many companies including the Royal Exchange and Library Theatre in Manchester and the Everyman in Liverpool. His other television credits include Agatha Christie's Poirot, The Darling Buds of May, Stay Lucky and Emmerdale.
