Ren is a childhood friend of Lala who came to Earth to take her from Rito by proving to be the better man and due to a promise they made, that if he becomes a real man she would marry him. Although he doesn't appear as much his female counterpart Run, any of his most appearance would have him complementing Lala on her beauty and kindness.
