Once transported to this world, the rules immediately take hold on all within its boundaries including Naoto. It is explained that the rules of direction are reversed while within its boundaries, up is down, left is right and front is back. Even the direction one would receive an injury is reversed, creating a world where one cannot anticipate a strike. The world often is used to disorient opponents as they would often feel a sense of vertigo due to the misdirection and the mixed signals being sent to the brain. Naoto calls this world he Sakasama no Sekai (逆様の世界, Inverted World) as while within its boundaries, reflexes and instinct are rendered useless.
