The devices were shaped in a similar manner to Darth Vader's meditation chamber, and allowed the pilot to fly with controls adjusted to resemble that of various Imperial fighter craft. The pilot, when using it, ends up flying through a holographic obstacle course, where they have to destroy as many targets as possible as well as complete one lap within the allotted time. Those that managed to complete at least 5 successful laps were eligible to get a training patch of the fighter they utilized for the simulator.
