The Second Chance Republic was a member star nation of the Solarian League, located in the Matagorda System. It was secretly controlled by the Ford family, one of the Mesan Alignment's genetic Alpha lines, and was expected to be one of the founding nations of the Mesan-controlled "Renaissance Factor" upon the collapse of the League. The Second Chance Republic was governed by a Chancellor. As of 1922 PD, the office was held by Walter Ford. (HH12)
