Kitsune Asami was a shugenja of the Fox Clan who entered to the service of the Emerald Magistrate Bayushi Norachai in 1166. She found herself among a bizarre group, as the ise zumi Hitomi Ryo, a massive beast by the name of Moto Shun, the fierce Matsu Seiho, and the delicate courtier Yasuki Sadao. They were all appointed as magistrates at Ryoko Owari Toshi, tasked in bringing peace between the many street gangs in the city.
