Born in Iowa, Jake had close relationship with his father and younger brother Charlie. However, one night his father died after driving under the influence which hurt Jake greatly. In his old school Jake was a star player on the football as defenseman due to his aggressiveness. However, Jake was eventually kicked off the football team, during a game when a player on the opposing team made a comment about his father, then Jake attacked and started a fight with him, which recorded and uploaded on YouTube by the people attending the game.
