The Lord Emperor was a Dark Lord of the Sith who reconstituted the Galactic Empire after the Second Imperial Civil War and ruled as Emperor. Considered by many to be one of most powerful Sith Lords in galactic history. Born in 120 ABY as Malphas, the son of two powerful Sith Lords who fled the One Sith in order to keep their son, Malphas killed his parents and the child who eventually became the Emperor was granted and the title of Darth Malphas by the current Dark Lord Darth Krayt.
