/dev/grrl is a non-founding member of Jackpoint and a student at NeoNet Boston High School. She is a hacker and known associate of "Pistons". Some of her contributions to the shadowfiles on Jackpoint she wrote originally as pieces of homework for school. She started using the Matrix directly after the Crash 2.0 at the very young age of eight. Her parents are both NeoNET execs. Her father is a human, while the metatype of her mother is unknown (assumed to be an elf). She started working in the shadows at the age of 14 (besides school).
