Tommy O'Riley was a dark-haired man who overheard a discussion about Stan Ogden while waiting on a split at the Rovers Return. Stan had recently been involved in a motoring accident which left him covered in bananas. Tommy warned the men joking about Stan's plight that he was a friend of Archie Crabtree, Stan's brother-in-law, who would soon be arriving in the Street.
