Red Nine was the callsign of the ninth member of Red Squadron. There were a number of starfighter squadrons with this name, and several beings went by the name Red Nine. The callsign was used by Rebel Alliance Lieutenant Naytaan during the Battle of Yavin. Naytaan was killed in the assault against the Death Star.
