The Smithsonian Magazine is a magazine published by the Smithsonian Institution containing articles on various subjects of scientific interest. An article in one issue discussed the recently rebuilt Great Library at Alexandria in Egypt. The magazine is generally viewed as academic in nature, and even its own subscribers admit that it is not widely read. Ethan Edwards once said that he thought he was "one of the five" people who actually read it, and was surprised that Detective Robert Goren also read it.
