Kowai hanashi was the Rokugani term for scary story. In High Rokugani were known as Kwaidan, and in the more common vernacular was used the word Kaiden. While they were usually exaggerated there were also countless ones which were completely true, and groups such as the Kuni Witch Hunters and the Inquisitors often traced them back in order to locate threats to the Empire.
