The four-year eContentplus programme (2005–08) was funded by the European Commission. Its goal was to tackle organizational barriers and promote the implementation of leading-edge technical solutions to improve accessibility and usability of digital material in a multilingual environment. The programme expired on December 31, 2008. Funding is continued under the Information and Communications Technologies Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP).
