The Keepers of the Flame were an order of psionic clerics of Laduguer in Gracklstugh with the duty of keeping quiet the existence of the Wyrmsmith of Gracklstugh, the red dragon who used his fire breath to temper the legendary steel blades of the city in exchange for contributions to his hoard. They also had the responsibility of slaying the current Wyrmsmith before he grew too strong, and replacing him with a new red hatchling. Later, the Keepers gained the duty of protecting the Deepking Horgar Steelshadow V from the plots of the derro Council of Savants.
