Ludovic is a human character that appears in the Smurfs comic book story "Doctor Smurf". He is a physician who is a friend of the sorcerer Homnibus, whom Papa Smurf contacts when Smurfette has fallen sick due to exhaustion working for Doctor Smurf in his hospital, taking care of his patients. Gargamel appeared with Ludovic as his assistant at the time that the Smurfs visited him to bring him to the Smurf Village to take care of both Papa Smurf and Smurfette. Although the Smurfs didn't trust Gargamel, Ludovic brought him along anyway so that he could assist him with the proper diagnosis and care of the two Smurfs, with Gargamel trying to keep himself from the temptation of going after the Smurfs while he was there. After Papa Smurf and Smurfette were restored to health, Ludovic departed fro
