Saratov was an admiral in the Imperial Navy of the New Dark Empire as of 180 ABY. He was an officer in the navy of the Galactic Federation Triumvirate prior to Suvorov Palpatine's takeover and reformation into the Empire, and thus sympathized the Jedi who survived Palpatine's Fifth Jedi Purge. A descendent of Luke Skywalker, a Jedi Knight named Jason Skywalker, convinced him to rebel against the Emperor. However, a loyalist in his small flotilla alerted Grand General Chirkov, who in turn informed Suvorov and his apprentice, Dark Jedi (and Supreme Commander of the Imperial Armed Forces) Ruslana Solo. The two personally led a strike team aboard his flagship and killed him.
