Pete Smith (played by Rob Jarvis) - Pete is Janet's father; He is protective of her and does not approve of Jonny. He is introduced in Series 3 when, off-screen, he refuses Jonny's request to marry Janet, and is first seen in the episode "Hospikal" when he is inveigled into agreeing to pay for the wedding after all (after Jonny discovers that Pete is having an affair with Flo).
