Soul of the Crab was a Crab Battlefield Formation devised to take advantage of the clan's full resources in those battles where all of their families were on the same field. Hida veterans were placed in the center to protect Kaiu siege engines behind them. Hiruma Scouts were placed well in front of the rest of the army, and Kuni Shugenja held a safe position near the Kaiu to bolster the physical strength of the Hida, heal the wounded, and unleash a barrage of Jade magic if the enemy included Shadowlands forces.
