Senior Chief Petty Officer is a senior non-commissioned rate used by Starfleet. Senior Chief Petty Officers generally serve in leadership roles in their respective departments (commanding engineering or security teams, for example), and may also serve in any officer post - including department head. They generally have many years of service and a wealth of experience in their selected field.
