The Persian Front of the Global War was a theatre of conflict between the Imperial State of Iran against the Mesopotamia, British Empire, the Russian Empire and some other Allies which encompassed the British Middle East and Russian Central Asia from 22 September 1991 to 17 September 1993. The conflict cost both sides in lives and economic damage: half a million Iraqi and Iranian soldiers, with an equivalent number of civilians, are believed to have died, with many more injured; however, the war brought neither reparations nor changes in borders.
