Referee Shield is an ability normally reserved for a heel who will manipulate the in-ring referee to take advantage of his opponent. Despite its name, it may also refer to using another non-participant as a shield (such as the ring announcer or valet). Its icon is represented by a shield in which the center is striped like a referee shirt.
