Khund was a Tellarite who was captain of the Tellarite starship Belligerent in 2287. (TOS novel: The Rift) Khund was possibly named for the Khund, an alien civilization in DC Comics's superhero universe, especially as a reference was made in the same book to a planet from those same comics, and Peter David, the author of The Rift, is also a writer in the comic book industry.
