Orly Taitz is a rightwing conspiracist who Stephanie Mencimer described as the "queen bee" of the Birther movement in a Jan. 7, 2010 article in Mother Jones. Mencimer quotes Taitz as stating that "it might be time" to exercise "our second amendment right to bear arms and organise in militias." Fact-checkers at Politifact dismiss her claims about President Obama's place of birth as untrue.
